What is Ovarian Cancer?

Ovarian cancer is a cancer that forms in the tissues of the ovary. Most ovarian cancers are either ovarian epithelial carcinomas (cancer beginning in the cells on the surface of the ovary) or malignant germ cell tumors (cancer beginning in egg cells). 

According to estimates from the American Cancer Society for the US in 2016:
